Biography

Dr Robyn Laurie graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1993 having been awarded the Child Growth and Development Prize in Paediatrics, the Ramsay Prize in Microbiology and Prosector of Anatomy. Soon after graduating, Dr Laurie began her medical career at St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne as an RMO before embarking on her Anatomical Pathology training at the Western Hospital in 1996. She completed further training at The Royal Melbourne Hospital, The Mercy Hospital for Women, The Northern Hospital and DOR Pathology, before obtaining her Fellowship from the Royal College of Pathologists of Australia in 2003. After winning the Eddie Hirst prize for Pathological Sciences, Dr Laurie started work for DOR Pathology as a registrar in 1998 and later became a Consultant Anatomical Pathologist. Dr Laurie is on the RCPA QAP committee for Gastrointestinal pathology as well as the Editorial Committee for the online College publication, “ePathway”.
