Biography

Dr Amanda Ormerod is a specialist Haematologist who trained at the University of Sydney. She completed her advanced training at Barwon Health, Royal Melbourne Hospital and Peninsula Health, and was admitted as Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians and the Royal College of Pathologists in 2015. Prior to studying medicine, she worked as a medical scientist for four years in Tanzania. Dr Ormerod has also worked at the Australian Red Cross Blood Service as a Transfusion Medicine Specialist and at Bairnsdale Regional Health Service as a Clinical Haematologist. A specialist in managing a diverse range of haematological disorders, Dr Ormerod has also worked across Victorian and Tasmanian hospitals to support their transfusion needs while working at the Australian Red Cross Blood Service.

Passionate about rural medicine, Dr Ormerod joined DOR Pathology in 2017 to work in the Gippsland region.
